SAMC C.R.E.W. Peer Ministry aims to provide meaningful experiences for students who are looking to grow as leaders in their faith. This program is open to high school juniors and seniors who have received their sacrament of Confirmation. Teens who wish to join the CREW must apply through our CREW application. Teens in the CREW should expect to attend our monthly meetings to be formed and to serve as leaders for our middle school ministry and high school ministry programs.SAMC CREW Mission
SAMC CREW seeks to grow disciples of Jesus Christ in our community by developing teen leaders into positive, faithful, dedicated role models who build community and assist with the faith formation of their peers.

Community
The first part of our parish mission is "to engage the community." As disciples we are called to build and foster strong Christ centered relationships and to create a sense of belonging in our community. CREW encourages youth to support one another, share experiences, and create a safe space for open communication and friendship as we journey towards sainthood together.

Encounter
“To encounter Christ” is part of our parish mission. CREW members highlight the importance of experiencing and encountering God in impactful ways. CREW members help to facilitate encounters with Christ and those who we serve.

Revive
The Church needs spiritual renewal and revitalization. CREW members encourage those we serve to reconnect with their faith, find inspiration, and engage in activities that rejuvenate their spirit, helping them grow closer to God and each other. CREW members are also called to revive their own faith through ongoing spiritual formation.

Witness
The final part of our parish mission is, “to live for Him.” CREW members follow our mission by living as witnesses for Christ. CREW members live out their sacrament of Confirmation by actively serving all who they encounter with Christ’s love, hospitality, and joy.

What exactly is Peer Ministry?
Peer Ministry originated from the Gospel story of "the Road to Emmaus." Peer Ministers share their faith experiences and help others to recognize Jesus is always in our midst. This past year we have had a few newly confirmed teens share that they had recognized the presence of Christ in their lives and wanted to share it with others. Peer ministers serve in our youth ministry programs, they journey with teens preparing for Confirmation, they actively serve our parish community while growing in their faith, developing their relationship with God and creating a support system for each other.
How do our CREW members serve?
CREW members serve as leaders and peer ministers for our youth ministry programs, confirmation prep program, youth retreats, service projects, and more. CREW members will have the option to serve in our middle school ministry (MSM), our high school ministry (HSM), our K-5th grade faith formation programs, and/or our high school confirmation program.
What is expected of our CREW members?- CREW members must possess a willingness to serve, care for others, ability to interact with peers, clergy, adult volunteers and leaders. They must model Catholic values and have a desire to grow in the faith.
- CREW members are expected to adhere to the teachings of the Catholic Church and not promote dissenting views. They are not expected to be theologians and know all the answers to every question about the faith. They can direct any questions they are unable, uncomfortable, or unwilling to address to any adult leader.
- CREW members are expected to be role models in our community. They recognize that they represent St. Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church and its youth ministry community, and that all actions (both positive and negative) reflect his/her role as a leader, in all circumstances.
- CREW members are expected to be committed to the program and attend as many CREW meetings as possible. Any anticipated absences should be communicated to the youth minister, and should be exceptions, not regular occurrences. CREW members are expected to attend our monthly CREW meetings (see calendar below for meeting dates and times).
- CREW members who are present for youth ministry nights and any parish event should positively engage their peers, dress modestly, speak respectfully, and to be a positive witness of living as a Catholic Christian today
- CREW members must be prepared for the events they will serve in. Look over the session and know your part, the better prepared you are the more you will enjoy your ministry.
- CREW members are expected to be on time to events, meetings, and programs that they have committed to.
- CREW members can expect to have support and encouragement while serving on the SAMC CREW. They can expect to grow in their faith and have an experience of being in a friendly, supportive community. They can expect that all adult leaders will be role models of spiritual maturity.
- Remember that hospitality is a core value of our parish and a large part of the CREW ministry.

How do I join the CREW peer ministry?
Click the image below to fill out and submit an application for the SAMC CREW Peer Ministry. You should hear back from the youth minister within the week after submitting an application. Generally teens who show an interest the CREW are welcomed to the team. The main purpose for the application is to get to know the applicant and learn why he or she may be interested in serving on our team.
